Holly
Makes sense that we have a lot of holly invading our forests, since a century ago the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsulas were hotspots for holly orchards, where branches with berries were harvested and shipped nationwide for Christmas decorations. Holly’s a tough beast as it is happy in the shade, has a deep taproot, and resprouts eternally after being cut back.
