Native Plants
Right on up to salmon and bears, we have incredible biodiversity on the KP. It all begins with the plants in our forests. They are adapted to our climate and soil and fill our forests with color and life, fueling food webs from bugs to birds to charismatic megafauna. It can be hard to know what to plant and where and how; we envision spreading biodiversity in KP forests through shared resources and a barter economy of native plants.
This section is under development.
For inspiration for now, check out KP local Dana Bresette’s immensely informative website: Native Plants PNW
The nearest native plant nursery is Woodbrook Native Plant Nursery in Gig Harbor.
Watch for the yearly native plant sales through Pierce Conservation District and Kitsap Conservation District.
