Forest Stewards Book Club
Have you wanted to read more about forests, and discuss with like-minded folks? Chris Rurik will be hosting an informal book club this winter. The book is Slow Wood by Brian Donahue. Chris loved this book. You get the story of a timber-frame house being built from locally milled, "worst first" trees. You get a sweeping view of how American forests have shifted and changed composition over the centuries. You get immersed in life on an old farm with extensive woodlands. Chris reads a lot of tree books, and this one seemed to hit the Forest Stewards of the KP ethos right on the head of the nail.
Date: Still TBD (sometime in Dec / Jan)
